Sergio is an experienced chef and a fixture in Lake County fine dining. Originally from Corpus Christi, Texas, Sergio learned to cook at an early age as he often made meals for his brother as a way to help his mother, who was a single parent. Originally self-taught, Sergio has a passion for studying culinary and nutrition books with a focus on local and organic food sources.

Sergio received his foundational chef experience at the renowned Saltgrass Steakhouse. With his wife Sunny, who is originally from Lake County, the Ramos family with their two children relocated to Lake County in 2017. Sergio was fortunate to land a position working with one of our favorite Lake County chefs, Jeremy Zabel, at the iconic Park Place Restaurant, where he gained solid footing in the Lake County fine dining scene.

In 2020, Sergio made the move to join our favorite Lake County restaurant, the Saw Shop, as the Executive Chef — taking the former position of his mentor, Jeremy, leading what many consider the top restaurant in Lake County. His experience at the Saw Shop was invaluable as Sergio and, with the leadership of Weston Seifert, the Saw Shop Public House secured itself as the most innovative fine dining establishment in Lake County. We will always recommend that our guest visit the Saw Shop on their Lake County dining experience.

Much like that of Sarun, our executive chef, Sergio describes his culinary style as a cross-cultural fusion utilizing whole ingredients made from scratch. Every little detail down to the housemade rubs and sauces are important to Sergio. He strives to create menus that are both adventurous and inclusive of tastes and dietary restrictions with options for everyone.
